Pin It NowIngredients:
- Sour cream and onion chips
- French onion chip dip
- Diced hash brown potatoes
- Cheddar cheese
- Cream of chicken soup
- Butter
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
Instructions:
In a large bowl, stir the frozen potatoes, french onion dip, cream of chicken soup, powdered seasonings, and half of the shredded cheese. This is easily done with a spatula or mixing spoon. So easy, kids can do it!
Recipe Tip
When mixing the party potatoes, the most important thing to pay attention to is ensuring the powdered onion and garlic powder fully combine in the mixture.
Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray. Pour the party potato mixture into the pan and use a spatula to spread it evenly. Then, sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top.
Finally, crunch up about 2 cups of sour cream and onion chips! I prefer the broken chips to be on the larger side, but you can also crunch the chips into smaller pieces if desired. Finally, pour the melted butter evenly on top!
Every bite of Sour Cream and Onion Party Potatoes is better than before. Everyone at the party will be asking for your recipe! The crunch of the chips and soft potato mixed with the creamy cheesy sauce is simply addicting.
Make-Ahead Recipe
This casserole can be made ahead of any party, potluck, BBQ, or gathering! Simply add everything to the baking dish except for the chips and butter. Cover and store in the fridge. When ready to cook, add the chips and butter and cook as usual.
